In adherence with NEP, a student can opt to pursue this programme as 3 year regular degree or as 4 year Honours degree or as 4 year Honours with Research degree .

It is an undergraduate, 3 years full time programme designed to cater the growing needs of professionals for the Manufacturing sector, Banking, Financial Services, Markets, Industries Educational Institutions and public administration. The objective of this programme is to prepare students to think critically, analyze the economic problems with data and methodology and find solutions to problems. Such advanced analytical skills certainly helps to improve the productivity in corporations, manufacturing, banking, financial markets and industries. Students learn various macro, micro, behaviour issues of domestic and international economies. They learn data analysis and other skills which are required in the manufacturing and services sector. Most of the time, such analysis is complex and difficult for decisions as far as public finance, stock markets, business analysis are concerned.

This programme is spread over 6 semesters. Each semester under this programme makes sure that students are progressing step by step to meet the opportunities offered and face the challenges of the dynamic field of various financial markets, banking and commerce, corporate sector and public sector.

Programme Objectives

  • Equip the students to evaluate macroeconomic and micro economic factors that influence budgets and monetary policies. This programme helps with the conceptual requirements and skills on preparation and interpretation of budgets and monetary policies of RBI.

  • Prepare students to appraise the structure and operations of markets, banking and financial system and institutions.

  • Enables student to identify future challenges faced by banking, manufacturing and financial markets, institutions in the global business environment

  • Develop the role of responsible leadership in economics.

  • Analyse the problems with econometric methodology.

  • It enables the student to learn various economic issues faced by individuals, firms and government. Students critically think on various issues and search relevant literature on the issues with a focus on various sectors of economy.
