Undergraduate (also named as Bachelor or Major) Programme is 130 to 160 credits programme spread over three years/four year in specific discipline which student can accomplish. Bachelors Programme offered in Somaiya Vidyavihar University are Ordinary and Honours.
Bachelor Ordinary programme are basically 132 credits programmes in discipline of Commerce, Business Studies, Science & Technology, Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.

Minor Programme is 20 credit programme spread over three years in specific discipline which student can accomplish along with Major Bachelor’s degree programme.
Minor programme would allow a student to obtain a concentration in an area other than his/her major discipline enabling them to obtain enhanced degree in multi-discipline area and providing edge in competitive world . It will help you to become more competitive in the job market, which could lead to a quicker career trajectory in an industry you’re passionate about.
Who can apply?
First year Bachelor degree students of Somaiya Vidyavihar University are eligible to opt for a minor in addition to the (major) degree program(s) they are enrolled in.
Requirements
- A student will be required to complete at least 4/5 courses (total - 20 credits) for a minor but specific minor may require morecourses / units.
- You get an opportunity to enhance your portfolio /resume with amazing interdisciplinary learning
- A minor may not be completed by itself, independent of a major program.
- Student may choose an intradepartmental /interdepartmental /interfaculty minor. Student can opt for more than one minor depending upon performance in aptitude.
Process of Admission (for academic year 2022-23)
Step 1
A student must declare his/her option to pursue a minor program before the end of the first year of his/her enrolment.
Step 2
Students interested in a minor program should register for Minor programme as per the procedure informed in the Minor degree Orientation program conducted by the college in the beginning of semester II .
Step 3
Admissions Office will announce the list of students who are admitted in minor program.
On Completion of a Minor
A minor degree will be awarded at the same time a bachelor’s degree is awarded. Minors will be posted on your transcript and will receive a separate minor certificate for each minor program completed.
