The session was taken by Mr. Brijesh Kukreja, Deloitte (Corporate Finance and Restructuring). He has over 17 years of experience as a Deals Professional with work experience in areas of mergers and acquisitions.

 

The session started at 10am with Mr. Brijesh Kukreja discussing with us some known start-ups, the ideas and their founders. He then explained the company life cycle and its stages and the various financing options available at each stage. He further explained about angel investors,  venture capital, private equity, etc. He explained how it is important for entrepreneurs to understand and seek financing at the right stages of their business. The session was made very interactive and interesting as he used real case studies to explain each concept for better understanding.

 

He further explained the 5 major steps to deal closing, which were:

Step 1 : Marketing of the Deal

Step 2: Non binding Offer/ Term sheet

Step 3: Due diligence

Step 4: Deal Signing

Step 5: Deal closed

 

Using case studies, he explained the journey of how small startup’s increased their capital and share value by finding investors and succeeding towards earning profits and brand name in the market.

 

Nearly 105 students attended this session which lasted for about an hour. Lastly, this wonderful session came to an end with a QnA session where Mr. Brijesh Kukreja answered questions raised by students.
