As per the United Nations Sustainability development goals every nation has to make efforts to attain these sustainability goals to ensure a continual balanced growth. India has dedicated its efforts in achieving these goals through various initiatives. Sustainability has multidimensional approach, which looks into all three aspects that is Economic, Social and Environmental.
Although the term sustainability is well heard of in academic circle but tools to measure the same have yet to be introduced at undergraduate level. Green or sustainability audits are the tools currently used by industries as well as governments to measure the success of achieving sustainability goals. Even though demand for more and more sustainability professionals are increasing, academic sector remains devoid of this capacity building. Hence this program is an effort to bridge that knowledge gap and make students more equipped with tools to measure the sustainability. Students entering this program will have dual credibility; first of their core subjects and second that of minor degree in sustainability auditing which intern has applicability across all industries and government sectors. This program can be taken up by any undergraduates of any stream. This course is not designed just to gain knowledge about sustainability audits but also to give students hands on experience in conducting these audits.
