The Chinese language programme has been successfully run at Somaiya Vidyavihar for over 15 years, with some of the best faculty in the city. The various levels are linked to the relevant HSK exams and at the end of each level, students become eligible to undertake internationally accredited exams, if they so wish.
Language skills are supported by continuous exposure to Chinese culture, history and business. The success of our programme is reflected in the number of students who have gone on to win scholarships to study in China and Chinese speaking countries, whether for further language studies or for graduate and post-graduate studies.
Teaching-learning occurs primarily in lecture format. Students participate in speaking and listening sessions that prepare them for HSK exams, should they wish to take them. Films and cultural events, whenever feasible.
